Discover the Legendary Lancer EVO Series
Lancer Evo or Evo, short for Lancer Evolution, is the daring nickname given by fans for the famous car series Lancer Evolution manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors.

Each model of Lancer Evo serious is named by roman numerical, for example, Lance Evo VIII, Lancer Evolution VII. And currently there are officially ten versions.The whole series feature in a drive system of a four-wheel structure as well as a two litre turbocharged engine.
All the models before Lancer Evolution VII were all similar models Mitsubishi made for the World Rally Championship. As a matter of fact, all the later models of Lancer Evo series actually followed this tradition, they are all based on the same body and structure as the Lancer Evo.

The Early Lancer Evo
In the beginning, Lancer Evo was only manufactured and sold solely in Japan. But there was a huge "black market" for this model in European as well as other Western Countries. Later on, Mistubishi started to offer Lancer Evo in UK and other European countries through famous car dealer network Ralliart.
Then in 2003, Mistsubishi made up its mind to export the 8th generation of Lancer Evo to the US. Owing to fact that their direct competitor-Subaru's successful launch of Impreza WRX around the globe.

As a matter of face, all Japanese cars were confined to a so called gentleman's agreement to not to advertise more that 205 KW(276HP), an imposed limit by the state 210KW(280HP). However, that limit has been reached by the Lancer Evo IV. In fact, all the later models since then have improved their power figures beyond the advertised limitation unofficially. Lancer Evo IX registers a full power output of nearly 321PS(236KW/317HP). Many other models that sold in other markets, esp. in United Kingdom, have an official power outputs up to more that 302KW(405HP).

New Age Lancer Evo
The newest model of Lance Evo, Lancer Evolution X was launched globally in 2008 and featured an all-new 291 hp (217 kW) inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine and a full-time all wheel drive powertrain. More on Lancer Evo.
